Othakarhaka Foundation was honored to welcome TEAM Malawi from Virginia Tech this week as part of the continued growth of our partnership with Virginia Tech.
TEAM Malawi, which stands for Technology, Education, Arts, and Medicine, is a multidisciplinary group of experts working to explore how research, innovation, and practical solutions can address public health challenges in resource-limited settings. The delegation was led by Professor Andre Muelenaer and Professor Martha Sullivan.
During their visit, the team met with Othakarhaka staff to learn more about our programs and the communities we serve. Discussions focused on strengthening collaboration and identifying opportunities to apply knowledge, research, and innovation in ways that can improve lives across rural communities in Malawi.
The visit follows the recent expansion of our partnership with Virginia Tech and marks another important step in building meaningful connections between academic institutions and community-based organizations. Together, we explored areas where our shared commitment to education, health, and community development can create lasting impact.
We are encouraged by the conversations held during the visit and excited about the opportunities ahead. Through this partnership, we look forward to developing initiatives that respond to local needs while creating new opportunities for learning, innovation, and community growth.
