Meet Faith
Faith distinguished herself as the top primary school student in Malawi, earning admission to a premier secondary school. Unfortunately, financial barriers almost prevented her from attending. Recognizing her potential and dedication, the Othakarhaka Foundation stepped in to cover her school fees. With aspirations of becoming a doctor, Faith is now on the path to achieving her dreams.
Meet Prisca
Prisca faced the daunting challenge of discontinuing her education and getting married, a decision shaped more by circumstance than choice. She became a mother at 14, adding another layer of complexity to her young life. Othakarhaka helped Prisca out of her marriage and provided the financial support she needed to return to school. Today, Prisca continues to care for her daughter while she attends classes and tutor younger girls in the Community Library
Meet Priscilla
Priscilla is a multifaceted talent and a recognized leader among her peers, yet she faced the challenge of transitioning from primary to secondary education without financial support from her parents. Inspired by the scarcity of female role models in her current secondary school, Priscilla has set her sights on becoming a secondary teacher herself. Her ambition extends beyond the classroom; Priscilla aims to become a community leader, dedicated to spreading kindness and empowering young people through education. Her journey reflects a deep commitment to fostering positive change and nurturing the next wave of leaders and thinkers.
Meet Tamara
Tamara’s educational journey had a challenging beginning. She dropped out of school, got married, and became a mother to three. However, thanks to the generosity of our donors, we were able to help Tamara reignite her dream of pursuing her education. Today, Tamara is a first-year Honors student at Malawi University of Business and Applied Sciences studying Telecommunication and Electronic Engineering.
