Lifetime Achievement Award – African Humanitarian Awards, Lagos
Ida was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award at the African Humanitarian Awards in Lagos. This honor recognized her decade-long dedication to girl’s education and rural development through Othakarhaka’s expanding programs.

Guest Expert Visit – University of Michigan, USA
In a groundbreaking opportunity for international collaboration, Ida was invited to the University of Michigan as a Guest Expert, where she shared the OTK story with BBA and MBA students at the Ross School of Business. The session focused on sustainable development, impact entrepreneurship, and youth empowerment in Malawi.

As part of the International Women’s Day celebrations, Ida Puliwa Mwango was honored as one of Malawi’s 100 Inspiring Women by Wealth Malawi. The recognition celebrated her commitment to breaking barriers, uplifting others, and passing on the kindness.

The U.S. Embassy in Lilongwe, Malawi honored Ida as one of the Mandela Washington Fellowship alumni making lasting impact through community-centered leadership. This recognition reaffirms Othakarhaka’s relevance and influence at both national and global levels.

Excellence Award – MWFAAN Nigeria, November 2024
In November 2024, Ida was honored with the Excellence Award by the Mandela Washington Fellowship Alumni Association of Nigeria (MWFAAN) during the Legacy Conference in Abuja, Nigeria. The award celebrated her contributions to leadership and grassroots development through Othakarhaka Foundation.
