On 18 September, Othakarhaka Foundation had the privilege of partnering with staff members from Lenovo for the annual #LenovoDayofService. The event brought mentorship, skills development, and inspiration to our girls, helping them see opportunities beyond the social and educational barriers they face.
The preparations began the day before with a practice session to test and refine the program. By the time the training began, the girls were ready and eager to engage in the sessions.
Throughout the day, Lenovo professionals shared their experiences and offered mentorship that encouraged the girls to think boldly about their futures. A highlight was the exploration of artificial intelligence, where participants discovered how AI can be applied to creativity, problem-solving, and learning. These activities sparked curiosity and opened conversations about STEM careers, helping the girls imagine new possibilities for themselves.
This year’s Day of Service built on the success of a similar initiative held last year. Once again, it proved to be a powerful platform for opening doors, building confidence, and planting the seeds of ambition.
At Othakarhaka Foundation, we remain committed to creating opportunities that truly empower. The Lenovo Day of Service is a shining example of what can be achieved when communities and global partners come together with a shared vision for empowerment.
