At Othakarhaka Foundation, our journey has always been guided by the belief that when kindness meets opportunity, transformation begins. For over a decade, we’ve worked to remove the barriers that keep young people especially girls from accessing quality education and building a better future. From primary school sponsorships to community empowerment programs, our commitment has always been about reaching those who need support the most.
In that same spirit, we’re pleased to share a new partnership with Kwera Fund Malawi. This collaboration marks an important step forward in our mission to extend educational access beyond secondary school by supporting students in public universities across the country.
Through this partnership, university students will receive tailored support packages that include tuition coverage, digital resources such as laptops and learning materials, mentorship opportunities, and practical skills training. These tools are designed to help students not only succeed academically but also prepare for life beyond graduation.
For many of the young people we serve, university is not just an academic journey, it’s a life changing opportunity. Yet financial hardship, limited access to technology, and the absence of guidance often stand in the way. By coming together with Kwera, we’re helping close those gaps and ensuring that students are equipped with the support they need to thrive both in and beyond the classroom.
This partnership reflects our growing commitment to walk with students all the way from their early school years to the day they complete their university degrees. It also speaks to our belief that true development must be inclusive and rooted in equity. By investing in young people who come from underserved communities, we’re not only supporting individual students we’re nurturing leaders who will return home to uplift others.
Together, we’re building a system that goes beyond scholarships. We are identifying high-potential students, delivering full support packages, and offering mentorship that strengthens both academic performance and career readiness. Through this model, we aim to cultivate changemakers graduates who return to their communities as educators, innovators, and role models.
We believe this is how transformation happens: with sustained support, shared commitment, and acts of kindness passed on from one person to another. Whether through donations, mentorship, or partnerships, there are many ways to help us expand access to higher education and invest in the future of Malawi.
