CRAIG AND BRADLEY SUPPORTS OTHAKARHAKA FOUNDATION WITH A BRIQUETTE MACHINE

Othakarhaka Foundation has taken another step towards promoting environmental sustainability following the donation of a briquette-making machine by international volunteers Craig Reiley and Bradley Popovich.

The machine produces briquettes using organic and agricultural waste materials such as rice husks, providing an affordable and sustainable alternative to charcoal. By reducing dependence on firewood, briquettes help combat deforestation while offering communities a cleaner source of energy for cooking and household use.

Beyond its environmental benefits, the initiative is creating new opportunities for local communities. Community members have already received training on how to produce briquettes, equipping them with practical skills that can help them generate income while accessing a reliable and affordable source of fuel.

For many families, this innovation represents more than just an alternative energy source. It is a chance to improve livelihoods while taking part in protecting the environment for future generations.

We are deeply grateful to Craig Reiley and Bradley Popovich for their generosity and commitment to supporting sustainable solutions in our communities. Their contribution will have a lasting impact, helping families embrace environmentally friendly practices while creating economic opportunities close to home.
