In the wake of Cyclone Freddy’s significant impact earlier in 2023, rural communities, particularly those in Chambe, Mulanje, have been on a slow path to recovery. While progress has been made, the effects linger, especially in these already struggling regions. Many families continue to grapple with the aftermath, having suffered losses in their homes and crops.
In light of these ongoing challenges, Othakarhaka Foundation extends its deepest appreciation to Christine Kipp of Nurture Our World Foundation, based in Arizona, USA, for her invaluable and timely donation. Through her thoughtful gesture, 68 families in the region will receive essential maize rations fortnightly from December through March 2024.
This generous donation underscores Christine’s profound understanding of the pressing needs faced by these rural families. Her compassionate support arrives at a critical juncture when many households in these areas confront the imminent threat of hunger and starvation. Christine’s dedication and commitment to making a tangible difference will significantly alleviate the hardships experienced by these families during this challenging period.
We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Christine Kipp for her unwavering dedication to supporting those in need through Othakarhaka Foundation.
