A New School Term, New Hope for Rural Families

The start of a new school term often brings mixed emotions for many families. There is excitement for learning and growth, but also concern about school fees, uniforms, supplies, and long distances to school. For families in rural and underserved communities, these challenges can determine whether a child returns to the classroom or stays behind.

At Othakarhaka Foundation, we understand these realities closely. Through our Passing on the Kindness model, we continue to support children whose education is at risk due to economic hardship. Each term, we work to ease the burden on families by helping students access the basic requirements they need to attend school with confidence.

Our approach is simple but powerful: when one child is supported, an entire family feels the impact, and a community moves one step forward. By reaching students in remote and vulnerable areas, we aim to ensure that education remains a possibility, not a privilege.

This work would not be possible without the generosity and commitment of our friends, partners, and well-wishers. Your support helps turn uncertainty into opportunity and gives many children the chance to remain in school and pursue their dreams.

As this new term begins, we remain grateful for every hand that continues to pass on kindness and stand with us in building stronger, more hopeful communities.
