Othakarhaka Foundation was delighted to welcome back two long-time friends of the organization, Diana Andresen and Dr. Sue Makin. Their visit was a special moment of reconnection after so many years, reflecting a shared commitment to improving the wellbeing of communities in Mulanje.
Dr. Sue Makin, a renowned OB/GYN, provided free cancer screening services and consultations for women with reproductive health concerns at the Othakarhaka Community Clinic. Women from across the Foundation’s catchment area accessed these important services, which offered both care and early detection opportunities that are often difficult to access in rural communities.
The visit highlighted the importance of bringing specialized healthcare services closer to communities, especially for women who may face challenges accessing such services. Through Dr. Sue’s expertise and generosity, many women had an opportunity to receive essential screenings and reproductive health support
