We are thrilled to announce that our Founder and Executive Director, Ida Puliwa has been selected for a one-year membership with the International Leadership Association (ILA).
The International Leadership Association (ILA) stands as the largest global community exclusively dedicated to advancing leadership knowledge and practice. As an ILA member, Ida will have access to various virtual resources and join a global network of leaders and leadership experts in the United States and worldwide.
Expressing her joy at this achievement and its significance for Othakarhaka Foundation, Ida stated, “Having been privileged to be awarded the Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders in the year 2023 and being given this opportunity to further enrich my leadership skills in 2024 is truly incredible. I aim to sustainably grow Othakarhaka Foundation to other districts of Malawi hence fostering networking and collaboration, and the ILA one-year program adds a crucial aspect to that.”
This opportunity was made possible by the Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders. In 2023, Ida was among 18 young Malawian leaders awarded the Young African Leaders Initiative program by the U.S. Department of State under the Leadership in Civic Engagement track.
OTK’s programs are made possible through the selfless collaboration with community volunteers, individuals, organizations, and other institutions that partner with OTK to reach the marginalized and underprivileged people in rural communities in Malawi through its various initiatives among others; Education, public health, sustainable agriculture and food security, agroforestry, community social welfare and girl empowerment .
Othakarhaka welcomes continued collaboration and support from individuals and organizations sharing our mission. To learn more about how you can collaborate and partner with Othakarhaka Foundation, send us an email at info@othakarhakafoundation.mw.
