These young girls aged 12 to 20, are breaking the stereotypes and proving that football is for everyone. With their exceptional skills and unwavering determination, they are turning heads and showing the world that gender has no place on the football field.
The Othakarhaka Girls Football Team is more than just a team, it is a symbol of empowerment and unity that inspires us all to pursue our dreams, work as a team and to never give up. Supported by their dedicated coach Daniel Chigwetsa, these girls are the future of women’s football.
As The Othakarhaka Girls Football Team prepare for any available match or competition, keep an eye out for team because they are not just playing a sport, they are changing the game and showing us what true dedication and passion can achieve. The Othakarhaka Girls Football Team started in the early 2023 with the support from Gwen Decoste, a Virginia based 11-year-old girl with the aim of promoting and empowering young girls from Othakarhaka’s catchment areas.
